Barn Conversion, Lexington, VA
Completion Date: Summer 2006
This 3,400 SF private residence in the mountains of southwest Virginia was built around an early 19th-century timber frame salvaged from a decaying nearby barn. Its unique cantilevered shape complimented the dramatically sloping site and focused views from the living area toward the neighboring mountains. The completed home featured a timbered great room, stained concrete floors, a stone fireplace, and a stone & naturally weathering wood exterior.
