Spring Garden Row Home, Philadelphia, PA

Originally, the footprint of this Philadelphia row home was too narrow to accommodate the open plan and spacious kitchen desired by the home's owners. By removing the masonry walls that enclosed an under-utilized side yard, Rasmussen/Su's design captured more floor space and created a voluminous interior with views from front to back. The steel beams that replaced the walls became focal points of the design and delineated functions within the space.
